This is the motto of the place I work. It is a privately owned mission (church) hospital. And for this post, I’d love to relay the story of this particular patient. This is a little bit inspirational.
A year ago, on one of my weekend calls, (this time I’m not in the emergency room, but I had a vantage view from above) a car screeches into the hospital compound, and before it came to a complete stop, the driver’s door was already opened and the driver almost out. It was like something out of an action movie. The man rushes to the emergency room shouting for the doctor to hurry up and come. “ my son is dying” he wailed. The mother of the boy is now able to disembark from the passenger’s side and is wailing too.
The doctor runs to the car and starts to examine the young lad lying lifeless on the back seat while trying to get a history of what had happened. I decided it was time to run downstairs too and lend a hand. I arrive at the scene and the mother of the boy is now rolling on the floor, the doctor had just certified the boy dead. The father was being given instructions on how the transfer his son to the morgue. He had accepted when suddenly I heard a shout “No! God this cannot be happening to me, not when I serve you”. He picked the boy up and ran into the church on the other side of the road.
In the church, he met some people doing their meeting, the Sunday service had just ended and he asked them to pray for the boy. A few minutes later, we heard some ruckus at the church. Lo and behold! The boy had woken up. We didn’t believe it. This lad was dead as in D-E-A-D! And now he lives. It was simply unbelievable. The doctor that certified dead, had to confirm that it was for real. It was!
With this story, I have just one thing to say; what is that impossible situation you are in right now and the doctors have given you the “final” verdict? Believe firmly in God and Just know that He has the FINAL say, for he is indeed the greatest physician.
Share any unbelievable stories you have. It might be a source of encouragement to many.
Cheers.
Did the parents by any chance say what had happened to the boy before they drove to the hospital...? I don't have any unbelievable stories of my own to share at the moment, but thanks for sharing this one. Truly inspirational.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I skipped that part of the story, thanks Michael for pointing it out. The boy fell into a well and drowned while trying to get water to wash his dad's car in preparation for Sunday service.
DeleteThis is a remarkable story Dr. Keren. Some may doubt it, but I do not. Life itself is a gift from Almighty God. When it is time to return we will return to him. In the mean time all things are possible for those who believe as the bible teaches us.
ReplyDeleteTrue, Mr. Adela all thingscare possible for those who believe.
DeleteThat's a great motto and so true! That is an amazing story. I got chills.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Chrys, the story does gives one the chills.
DeleteI just posted on your macaroni post. Visiting, it was first post I saw. Now I see there is tons more here. This is an awesome story. I've heard similar stories but never witnessed miracles firsthand.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Sharon, loved your blog too. Very interesting. Actually doing medical drama as my A-Z theme. But I write on so many other stuff too, hence the macaroni post.
